Veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has announced her return to acting, months after the heartbreaking loss of her only child, Ayomikun.
In a video shared on her Instagram page on Friday, Ogunmola reflected on her journey through grief, describing the past few months as “heavy,” while expressing gratitude for the outpouring of public love and support that helped her cope.
“A new month, a new dawn. The past months have been heavy, but your love, prayers, and condolences have carried me through the storm. Today I rise, stronger, grateful, and ready to embrace my passion again. The screens have missed me… and I’m back, doing what I love most,” she said.

Ayomikun passed away in Ibadan in September after a brief illness, according to family spokesperson Yemi Amodu, who at the time dismissed online speculation surrounding the cause of death.
Ogunmola, a respected figure in Yoruba cinema for decades, had taken a break from the spotlight since her son’s death.
Her announcement sparked an outpouring of support and excitement from fans and colleagues, many of whom flooded her comment section to welcome her back to the industry.
