Afrobeats star Davido has revealed that his much-anticipated collaborative project with American R&B singer Chris Brown is expected to be released next year.
Speaking in a recent interview with Billboard Arabia, the award-winning Nigerian artist shared insights into how he approaches international collaborations, stressing that he prioritises genuine creative chemistry rather than calculated partnerships.

“I just really make music. Whoever comes around, comes around ,and we make music if we are chilling, if we are in the studio,” Davido said.
He explained further, “And it happens naturally. I love making music with people naturally. I do not like forcing things, running away from collaborations with the Western world.”
Confirming the upcoming project, the singer added, “I have a project with Chris Brown by the grace of God and will come out this… next year.”
Davido also highlighted his belief in music as a global language, pointing to his recent collaboration beyond Africa and the West. “I just did a collaboration with Bhaskar from India. I believe music is a universal language,” he said.
Davido and Chris Brown have built a strong working relationship over the years, frequently collaborating since 2019. Their first joint effort came with Davido’s hit single Blow My Mind, which featured the American star.
Later that same year, Chris Brown featured Davido on his track Lower Body. Their creative connection continued with Under the Influence in 2019, a song co-written by Chris Brown, Davido, and Tiffany Mckie, and produced by Nigerian producer KDDO.
The duo went on to collaborate again in 2020 on Shopping Spree alongside rapper Young Thug, in 2022 on Brown’s Sensational, and most recently in 2024 on the track Hmmm.
