Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, aka Davido has bragged about him being the leader of the Afrobeats genre globally.
The DMW CEO had during a recent interview with Billboard’s Nadine Graham, interrupted the interviewer after he referred to him [Davido] as the leader of Afrobeats in the United States. Davido had interjected that he was the leading man “everywhere.”
The DMW boss had said that as the global leader of Afrobeats, he wanted people to look forward to good music.
“It’s crazy, because people in jail have heard my music.”
During the interview, the singer revealed that he was presently working on two albums —one for the African audience and the other for the American audience.
Davido also highlighted that his favorite collaboration is ‘2 AM’ with Casanova and Tory Lanez because the record extended across Canadian, Nigerian and American cultures.
