In an attempt to address the intensifying unrest linked to ongoing hunger protests, the Keffi Local Government Area in Nasarawa State has declared a 12-hour curfew in the area that became effective from August 1, 2024.
The curfew, will run from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am and was formally declared by the Keffi Local Government Chairman, Muhammad Baba Shehu.
The decision to enforce this curfew had been to curb the growing disorder and stop the looting activities carried out by yet-to-be identified persons.
The curfew imposition came after extensive consultations with security agencies dispatched to the area( including the Army and other security operatives), who fully supported the measure to stabilize the area.
