FG Hikes Salaries of Federal Varsity Staff by 35 Percent

President Bola Tinubu’s administration has approved the enactment of 35% and 23% of salary increments for the Staff of all Federal Tertiary Institutions in the country.

Additionally, the FG will be paying arrears from 1st January 2023.

This information was contained in a letter released from the office of the Auditor General of the Federation with Ref. NO: OAuGF/Sw/C/QP/1395/VOL.1/II

The memo was dated: September 21st, 2023, and had been directed to the Directors of Audit Heads of Department, Heads of Units.

This salary review will affect both the academic and non-academic staff of federal Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in the country .

The letter reads partly:
“I wish to inform you that the Presidential Committee on Salaries at its 13th meeting having taken into consideration, the various stages of collective bargaining in different sectors and particularly engagements between the Federal Ministry of Education and Tertiary Institutions-based Unions and in consequence, the Federal Government’s approval is therefore conveyed as revised for the following:-

Consolidated Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Salary Structure, –CONPCASs, or Academic Staff of Federal Polytechnics and Colleges of Education with effect as from 1st January, 2023,” part of the letter said.
