Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, has encouraged security personnel to probe individuals involved in threats and violence in the run-up to the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.
Gbajabiamila revealed this yesterday after voting at Polling Unit 014, Ward 08, Fowler Memorial International School, Masha, Surulere, Lagos.
He stated that the culprits, whoever they are or which party they represent, should be held accountable as a deterrent to others in future elections.
According to him, voting for whomever you choose is part of the constitutionally granted freedom of speech, and no one has the authority to prevent anyone from using their franchise.
Gbajabiamila praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for improving the electoral process, adding that the gubernatorial and House of Assembly polls were smoother than the presidential and National Assembly elections on February 25.
