Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has officially received her second Guinness World Record plaque, recognizing her for preparing the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
Guinness World Records confirmed that Baci cooked an astonishing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during a Lagos cookout in September — a feat that has now been certified as the largest of its kind in history.
This latest achievement comes just over a year after Baci earned her first Guinness title for completing a 93-hour and 11-minute cooking marathon in May 2023. With both accomplishments, she becomes Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.

Taking to Instagram to celebrate the milestone, Baci shared photos of her two plaques, calling her journey one of “faith, fire, and history.”
“Our plaques are finally here !!! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria,” she wrote.
She added, “And not just any records, two of the biggest culinary records ever set. Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves, a story that reached over five billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder, someone pinch me.”
Baci also referenced a Bible verse from Isaiah 61:7 to reflect on her journey, stating that her story was proof that “instead of shame, you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.”
Her record-breaking jollof rice cookout attracted a crowd of more than 20,000 people, including celebrities, food lovers, and influencers. In line with Guinness verification guidelines, all portions of the massive dish were shared among attendees and charitable organizations.
