Popular social media personalities Desmond and Kristy Scott have officially gone their separate ways, with Desmond addressing the situation publicly for the first time and admitting that he made personal “choices” he later regretted during their marriage.
The breakup, which surprised many of their followers online, came after Kristy reportedly filed for divorce in early 2026, bringing an end to a relationship that had gained widespread admiration across social media platforms.
In a detailed statement shared via his Instagram story on Sunday, the celebrity chef accepted full responsibility for the breakdown of the marriage and disclosed that he had initiated conversations about separation toward the end of 2025.
“Toward the end of 2025, I wanted to separate, and I had conversations with Kristy regarding this. During this period, I made choices that I am not proud of,” Desmond confessed.
Although he did not elaborate on the nature of the “choices,” Desmond said he was transparent with Kristy about his actions, after which they jointly agreed to proceed with the divorce. “I took responsibility for those actions, I shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce,” he stated.
The father of two boys issued an apology to his estranged wife, their families, and fans who had looked up to their relationship. “I want to begin by apologising to Kristy, our family, and everyone who has been impacted by the public attention surrounding this situation. I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt it has caused,” he said.
Desmond emphasized that despite the end of their marriage, Kristy would always hold a special place in his life as the mother of his children. “Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first. I remain fully committed to being an active, present, and loving parent to our boys, as I have always been,” he added.
He also revealed that both parties made genuine attempts to resolve their issues before deciding to part ways. “Kristy and I faced challenges and made sincere efforts to work through them,” Desmond noted.
Appealing to the public, he asked for empathy and privacy as they move forward separately. “I ask for privacy and compassion as we navigate this difficult chapter of our lives,” the statement read.
The content creator and chef concluded by thanking supporters and reaffirming his commitment to his craft. “Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years.
