Veteran Nigerian musician Daddy Showkey has shared an interesting story about how Afrobeats superstar Wizkid played a key role in helping him join Instagram.
In a recent video chat with music producer Maleek Berry, the “Galala” singer reflected on a visit he once paid to Wizkid’s home — a visit that turned out to be a digital eye-opener.
Showkey explained that he found out he was trending online after Wizkid posted about him, which made him curious about social media. It was then that the Made in Lagos star personally guided him through the process of opening an Instagram account.
Sharing the experience in a post, Daddy Showkey wrote:
“I had a special call today from @maleekberry and I shared a story of how @wizkidayo introduced me and also helped me open my Instagram account. And how @iam_kcee also shared knowledge on how to navigate the app.”
He also appreciated fellow artist KCee, who later offered him tips on how to use the platform more efficiently.
Reflecting on the support he received, Daddy Showkey expressed gratitude to both musicians, adding:
“Life is about learning, and applying the knowledge is key to the life we live now.”
According to him, embracing technology has been a meaningful step in staying connected with fans and evolving in today’s digital world.
