The Lagos State government has begun an investigation into the unethical and very unprofessional video recording of the late Big Brother Naija contestant, Rico Swavey, by individuals suspected to be the nurses of Doren Specialist Hospital in the Ajah area of the state.
On Thursday, October 14, a video clip surfaced online showing a dying Rico Swavey in a wheelchair after he was involved in a ghastly motor accident on Tuesday. The injuries he had gotten from the accident eventually led to his death in the early hours of Thursday, after he had been on life support the day before.
In the video clip allegedly recorded by one of the nurses attending to Rico Swavey, the deceased had been placed on oxygen and he was unconscious on a chair.
Some nurses were attempting to carry him to a hospital bed when one of the practitioners brought out a phone and started recording him.
Another nurse was heard in the video cautioning her colleague against the act.
The footage sparked a lot of reactions on social media, with anger being the prominent emotion. Several members of the public have demanded an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state, Gbenga Omotoso, has announced that the authorities have begun an investigation.
It should be noted, however, that Rico Swavey did not die at Doren Specialist Hospital as he was only resuscitated at the facility after which he was moved to another hospital where he eventually passed away.
