Mrs. Eugenia Abu, a former executive Director of Television Authority, revealed that Nigerians participate more in Big brother Naija Elections than in Elections in the country.

This she said while delivering a speech at the fifth convocation ceremony of Salem university Lokoja, according to her, it is quite alarming that Nigerians vote more in BBnaija Elections than in the general elections.

She further called for sensitization on Voter education to the general public, using social media outlets and every other means to educate people on their right to vote.

Abu said, “I’m alarmed at the number of votes for Big brother Naija, an entertainment program at one point three billion votes as against 96 million votes garnered by winners of the presidential election in four different election cycles.”

She said, “The media must be deeply knowledgeable to be able to provide the much-needed illumination for citizens on their rights on issues of governance while holding leaders accountable.”

INEC has lifted the ban on Voter registration, so there’s still time for people who haven’t gotten their voter’s card to get it, for there to be massive participation in this coming election.
