Actress Osas Ighodaro has shared her experience with her first on-screen kiss in Nollywood—and it seems the moment caught her entirely off guard.
Having moved from the United States to Nigeria in 2012, Ighodaro described the kiss as a “rude shock” after the actor reportedly went further than expected by using his tongue.
Speaking on The Culture League podcast, she said, “My first on-screen kiss in Nigeria took me by surprise… On the basic level, if you are going to do an on-screen kiss you talk about it… But if you don’t talk about it then you know it’s the basics.”
For someone with years of experience in the industry, her reaction comes across as unusually naive. Handling intimate scenes is part of acting, and her description makes it seem as though she was unprepared for something that is generally considered routine in film work.
