The Lagos State Nigerian Police Force Command has confirmed the arrest and detention of a police inspector reportedly behind the Tuesday night shooting that involved men of Ajah Division, after which a man in Happy Estate, Ajah was killed in the crossfire.
The reason for the shooting is yet unknown but while the police officer is in detention, investigations have begun to determine the remote cause of the shooting.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin who confirmed the incident had given a report saying:
“At About 11:30p.m on Tuesday, December 06, 2022, a shooting incident involving men of Ajah Division, resulted in the unfortunate death of Gafaru Buraimoh, a resident of Happy Land Estate, Ajah. The officer behind the shooting, an Inspector of Police, has been detained, as a full-scale investigation has commenced.”
