Suspected Yahoo Boy Allegedly Kill Girlfriend in Ogun State

A suspected fraudster ‘yahoo boy’ by the name Obeta John, was arrested by the Osun state police command for allegedly killing his girlfriend, named Idowu Buhari, an HND 1 mass communication student of Gateway Polytechnic Ogun state.

According to Abimbola Oyeyemi, the State Police Spokesperson, they received a call informing them of the incident, according to the caller, John Obeta locked his girlfriend in a room and was beating her and pounding her head against the wall. Some policemen were immediately dispatched to the area and they found her in a pool of blood. The victim was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

” the distress call, the DPO Ode-remo division, CSP Fasogbon Olayemi, quickly led his men to the scene where they met the victim in the pool of her blood after forcing the door opened.”

The suspect was immediately arrested, during interrogation, John Obeta confessed that he was an internet fraudster, and he used his girlfriend’s account to collect the money he duped his client, but she refused to give it to him, so in a bid to collect the money from her, he got angry and started beating her which eventually led to her death

“On interrogation, the suspect, Obeta John, informed the police that he is an internet fraudster and that a certain amount of money from one of his clients was paid into the account of his deceased girlfriend which she refused to relinquish to him.

“He stated further that it was the argument over the said money that led to the scuffle between them which eventually led to the death of the girl
