A letter alleging the resignation of the Sokoto State deputy governor, Manir Dan Iya, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has sparked reactions online after surfacing online.
The unverified letter addressed to the Ward Chairman, Kware Ward, Kware Local Government, dated February 8, 2023, had revealed the deputy governor acknowledging the party for the opportunity to serve after notification of withdrawal.
The letter partly reads, “I write to notify you of the withdrawal of my membership from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, with effect from February 8, 2023.”
“I appreciate the opportunities offered me which helped me serve in various capacities under the PDP banner,” the letter reads.
At the time of filing this report, the letter had not been confirmed by the PDP spokesperson.
