President Bola Tinubu has rejected the National Economic Council’s (NEC) advice to stop the tax reform bills from being discussed in the National Assembly.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said that while President Tinubu got the NEC’s suggestion, he wants the law-making process to keep going.
Even though the NEC has worries about it, the tax reform bills, which have caused a lot of discussion, will still be considered by the National Assembly.
The NEC, comprising the 36 state governors and led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, had advised withdrawing the bills due to potential implications on the economy.
