The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has informed the public that they have successfully reconnected electricity to several areas in Northern Nigeria after a period of power outages.
In a statement from TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah, it was revealed that power was restored at 4:56 p.m. on Wednesday through the 330-kilovolt (kV) Ugwuaji-Apir transmission line I.
The states that were affected, such as Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, and Gombe, are now receiving electricity again. The Apir-Lafia 330kV transmission line 2 is also working, allowing power to reach these areas.
TCN engineers are getting ready to fix the second 330kV transmission line, and they already have the necessary materials on site. They will start the repairs once the area is safe for the workers.
“TCN thanks everyone for their patience and understanding during this time and assures them that the engineers are working hard to fix the 330 kV transmission line II,” Mbah said.
