UTME: JAMB records 1.6 million applicants

For the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Test, 1.6 million applicants have enrolled with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) (UTME).

Following a one-week delay, the board announced that the sale of UTME forms would finish tomorrow (February 22).

In Abuja yesterday, while overseeing the registration of candidates at the Global Distance Learning in the Federal Capital Territory, JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede made this announcement (FCT).

The Federal Ministry of Education’s Permanent Secretary, David Adajo, participated in the monitoring exercise with Oloyede.

The selling of 2023 UTME forms by JAMB began on January 14, 2023, and was scheduled to end on February 14, 2023.

However, to ensure that every candidate was kept informed, the board decided to extend the registration period by one week, beginning on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

He claimed that the board had detained roughly 15 individuals for violating the rules governing the UTME registration processes.

Adajo clarified that the extension was required to allow enough time for all candidates to register.
