Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma together with the Minister of State for Health, Hon Joseph Ekumankama have launched the Federal University Teaching Hospital Owerri (FUTHO).
According to Governor Uzodimma in his address at the event, President Muhammadu Buhari was to be acknowledged for his love for ‘Ndi Imo’ and for approving the upgrade of the Federal Medical Centre to a Federal University Teaching Hospital which will not only cater to the Healthcare and well-being of Ndi Imo but will additionally provide the needed employment for the people.
On his part, the Minister of State for Health, Hon Joseph Ekumankama had revealed that the Federal University Teaching Hospital Owerri (FUTHO) was a first-grade teaching hospital in the country that boasts of having equipment for cancer treatment, making it one of the 6th hospitals in the country that are equipped for it.
