2023 Elections: 2 Politicians that could help PDP upset the apple-cart
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Political parties and civil society groups are gearing up for the highly anticipated presidential election in 2023. The presidential election will be conducted in a few years to choose who would replace Nigeria’s current president, Muhammadu Buhari, after his tenure. Without a doubt, the election will be more heated than the last one since political parties will field fresh faces and experienced candidates to compete against one another.

However, it is unclear where the two major political opponents, the PDP and the APC, would zone their candidates since this is a critical region in which no errors can be made.

In my view, the PDP has a strong chance of winning the next presidential election if it zones its presidential ticket to the south and north. This is because these two areas account for the overwhelming majority of the population and votes. As a result, any political party wanting to win the next presidential election would consider these two sectors.

After losing the past two presidential elections, the PDP may give the incumbent party a run for its money this time, as the party urgently seeks a means to take back the mantle of leadership at the center in 2023. This time, the country’s two major political parties will compete in another close election. As a result, the PDP is well-prepared, and they will easily win the next president if they accept my perspective and position.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at a few juggernauts who may help them win the next presidential election. These two were selected because of their significant contributions to the party’s ongoing existence and the knowledge and skills they have accumulated that will help the party win in 2023.

If these two individuals are given the presidential ticket, the PDP may be invincible in 2023. So, taking a look at these two past governors and see how they may be able to influence the polls in their favor.

Rabiu Kwankwaso

Former Kano state governor and PDP leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, is a deserving candidate whom the PDP should endorse. With his political experience and massive support, the PDP would be relying on him to win the next presidential election. He was governor of the state for eight years until handing over authority to his deputy, Abdullahi Ganduje, who is currently governor.

If Kwankwaso is granted the ticket, he will certainly get support from the north. This is owing to Kano state’s love and respect for him and northern Nigeria in general.

Despite having little or no previous military experience, he was chosen as the fourth republic’s first defense minister before becoming governor of Kano state. He also served in the Senate, albeit only for one time. So, with all of his knowledge and skills, he can help the PDP reclaim power from the governing party in 2023.

Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra, is the perfect choice for the PDP to choose from the south. He can win in the southeast and south-south if given the opportunity due to his extensive expertise and educational background.

Peter Obi served as governor of the state until his term expired. He is the ideal choice to lead from his zone since he has created many excellent initiatives throughout his tenure as governor. Not only does he have the political will and abilities to rule, but he also has the character of a great leader. Choosing him as the candidate to head the PDP from the south is the correct decision.

If given the opportunity, he is capable of delivering. He exhibited the same personality when he ran for vice president as Atiku Abubakar’s running partner in 2019.

These two political gladiators may assist the PDP in winning the next presidential election in 2023.
