On Saturday, the Association of Movie Practitioners (AMPRAC) denied any association with Henry Odenigbo, a suspected kidnapper who was shot dead by police in Lagos on July 4. AMPRAC President Ifeanyi Azodo clarified to journalists in Enugu that Odenigbo was not a registered member of the association.
Odenigbo, identified as a Nollywood actor and movie producer, was killed alongside six others during a police operation aimed at thwarting a kidnapping plot against a Lagos businessman. The police, acting on intelligence, ambushed the group, resulting in seven deaths and two escapes.
Azodo emphasized that a thorough check of AMPRAC’s database revealed no records of Odenigbo’s membership.
He reassured that AMPRAC does not admit individuals of questionable character and maintains strict screening processes to uphold the association’s reputation. Azodo reiterated that Odenigbo was never associated with AMPRAC, providing evidence from their records to support this claim.
