Joe Aribo is eagerly anticipating the start of the upcoming premier league with his new club Southampton. Aribo who recently joined Southampton from Glasglow rangers this summer has proved his worth in the preseason-friendly games. He scored the maiden goal in Saturday’s defeat to Villarreal and also provided the assist for Stuart Armstrong’s goal in the game against Monaco last week.

According to Aribo, the preseason games has been a good one, as they would help them pinpoint their strength and weaknesses and if necessary make appropriate amendments in preparation for next season.

“I think it was a really good test and one that we needed,” Aribo told the club’s website after the game against Villarreal.

“You could see out there that Villarreal are a very good team and are comfortable on the ball, and that’s what’s to come in games to come this season, so it was a really good test for us in pre-season to see where we’re at.

“In large spells of the game, we were solid and communicating together. At times we weren’t really the best on the ball, but that’s all going to come.

“Pre-season is where you get the mistakes out and find yourselves. I think the boys stayed solid and were a good unit today.”

We wish him good luck in next season’s games.
