Several yet-to-be-identified armed men had on Tuesday morning, March 14, abducted Chukwudi Ogbonna, the Accord Party candidate for the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
This incident is happening less than four days before the State House of Assembly polls scheduled to hold on March 18.
According to reports, Ogbonna had been abducted while driving in his car at Rumuigbo, near Port Harcourt on Monday night, March 13 when the gunmen ordered him to stop and abducted him with his car.
This report had been verified by his brother, Ifeaka Nwakiri, who revealed that the kidnappers had abducted his brother with his Mercedes car.
“We have reported the matter at the Kala Police station.” Nwakiri had said.
