Reality TV star and media personality, Anto Lecky, has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the Edo State Governor on Tourism and Creative Economy.
Lecky made the announcement via her Instagram page on Monday, expressing gratitude to His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State, for the opportunity to serve her state and country in a new capacity.
“I thank His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo… for the opportunity to serve him, my state and my country again in another capacity,” she wrote.
In her post, Lecky highlighted the importance of her new role, which involves promoting Edo State’s rich cultural heritage and advancing its growing entertainment and tourism sectors.
“With the return of many stolen Benin Bronze, soon-to-be opened museums, and an ever-growing entertainment industry, there is no better time for Edo State to be on the forefront of tourism and the creative economy in Nigeria and the world,” she stated.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate emphasized the openness of Edo State’s borders and economy to both local and international investors and travelers. She also expressed her readiness to collaborate with stakeholders to move the state forward.
“As a proud Edo babe,” she noted, “in my official portraits, I am wearing the Gbogane fabric of my Etsako tribe located in Edo North and red coral beads which signify royalty, power, dominance, and protection.”
Lecky’s appointment is being widely applauded as a strategic move that blends youth influence with cultural promotion in Edo State’s economic and creative development efforts.
