Tukur Burutai, former chief of army staff, and sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, former Governor of Borno State, endorsed Babagana Zulum, Governor of Borno State for a second term in the 2023 elections.

They made gave this speech on Monday in Governor Zulum election campaign for a second term. According to  Sheriff, Zulum’s first term in office is proof that he needs to be reelected for a second term, as he has achieved what other past Governors could not achieve, he even said that Zulum has done what he couldn’t do whilst he was still the Governor of Borno State and enjoined the people to vote for Zulum to be free from Boko Haram terrorism.

Burutai also praised Zulum for his achievements, as he has done well in terms of infrastructural development projects and services, which has totally transformed the state into a better place for Borno State people, and he also assured Zulum that they are solidly behind him in his re-election quest.

“Zulum’s performance in three years is better than the cumulative performance of four of us who governed the state before him,” Sheriff confessed to the mammoth crowd at the campaign rally.

He called on the people of the state to re-elect Zulum for a second term to enable him “continue performing well to transform the state for post-Boko Haram prosperity.”

“Zulum has performed excellently in terms of the volume and quantum of transformation of the state for prosperity in terms of infrastructural development projects and services,” Buratai said.

“We will give you the support you need in your reelection bid,” the former COAS promised Zulum.

“Congratulations on a very successful first term, your second term is assured,” he told the governor.

Zulum himself promised the people that he will do more if given a chance for a second term.

“When you vote us back to power, we will do more.”
