Chelsea have confirmed signing Danish under-21 goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal. The club declared in a statement on Tuesday that the 22-year-old had agreed to a seven-year contract with the Premier League side.
Jorgensen, who rose to Villarreal’s number-one goalkeeper late last season, has been signed by Chelsea for a transfer fee of around £20 million ($25.67 million), the British media reported. Neither club confirmed the exact fee.

Born in Sweden to a Danish father and Swedish mother, Jorgensen initially represented the birth nation of his mother, Sweden, at youth levels before switching his allegiance to Denmark in May 2021. His arrival at Stamford Bridge signals Chelsea’s commitment to the replenishment of their stock with promising young talent.
