The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Kaduna Zonal Directorate has apprehended eleven individuals suspected of internet fraud in Chanchangi Local Government Area, Niger State.
This information was revealed in a statement headlined “EFCC Arrests 11 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Niger,” which was published on the agency’s official X handle on Sunday.
The commission disclosed that during the operation, operatives confiscated two vehicles and 13 mobile phones of various brands.
“The arrests, carried out in broad daylight at White Hotel on Thursday, February 27, 2025, followed credible intelligence linking the individuals to fraudulent online activities,”it read.
The EFCC assured the public that the arrests were conducted professionally, with no incidents of misconduct or abduction.
“The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations,” the statement noted.
