The Lagos State Government has suspended the operation of its specialized Security Team on Transport Infrastructure on the Bridge as a result of the partial closure of Eko Bridge as a result of the ongoing repair work.
According to a statement made on Friday by the Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA, the purpose of suspending the BRT Monitoring Enforcement Team’s operations was to improve traffic flow on the Bridge while construction was still underway.
The authority advised motorists that “all actions connected to the monitoring and enforcement activity by the team are paused till further notice” while “the ongoing reconstruction work on Eko Bridge is completed.”
