Late Onyeka Onwenu Remembered on First Death Anniversary

Tijani Onwenu, the son of late Nigerian music icon Onyeka Onwenu, has taken a moment to honour her memory one year after her death.

On July 31, 2024, it was reported that the veteran singer collapsed after a performance at Stella Okolie’s 80th birthday celebration in Lagos. She was rushed to Reddington Hospital, where she was later confirmed dead.

Remembering her on the first anniversary of her passing, Tijani shared a brief but emotional tribute.

The singer, fondly remembered for her contributions to Nigerian music and public life, continues to be mourned by fans and loved ones.
