In an interview with the TMZ Nigeria’s Florence Otedola, the Nigerian DJ and music star professionally known as DJ Cuppy has revealed details of how she managed to reconcile her faith with her musical career. Still a newbie of Christendom, Cuppy admitted to a moment’s trepidation when preparing a playlist of Christian songs alone and felt God’s leading throughout the process.
Taking to Instagram to share her story as well as pictures from a recent show, Cuppy was grateful for the opportunity to use her talent and gifts to minister to people through music. She wrote, “I had the RARE opportunity to do the two things I love most: A career of DJing AND Serving God. How wonderful!
Cuppy also discussed factors that people tend to get wrong concerning Christian music, which is that it comes with life and vigor. “I was really nervous about curating a performance with ONLY Christian music, but God challenged and guided me through it. And please DO NOT get it twisted—Christian music is LIT!” she added, expressing her gratitude for this unique journey of faith and music.
