The Nigerian music scene in 2024 promises an exciting array of new releases from top artists. While the year started slowly, it gained momentum with new albums from Ayra Starr, Tems, Victony, and Simi. With the first half of the year now complete, the second half looks to be packed with new projects.
Rema will lead the charge with his sophomore album ‘He Is,’ while Chike will follow with his third album ‘Son of Chike’ in July. Asake will launch his summer “Lungu Boy” tour, preceded by the release of his third album in three years, also titled ‘Lungu Boy.’
Fireboy is set to release his fourth album, having already teased fans with singles like ‘Everyday’ and ‘Obaasima.’ Oxlade’s debut album ‘Oxlade From Africa,’ initially planned for March, will also be released in 2024.
Other notable projects include Wizkid’s ‘Morayo,‘ a tribute to his late mother, as well as new releases from Peruzzi, ID Cabasa, Pretty Boy DO, Maleek Berry, Sarz & Wurld, Anti World Gangsters, and many more. The second half of 2024 is set to be a landmark period for Nigerian music.
