Prophet Abel Boma, founder of the ATB Foundation, has drawn backlash online after sharing a message defending Judy Austin, the second wife of actor Yul Edochie.
In a video posted to Instagram, the Port Harcourt-based cleric claimed that God revealed to him a strong warning against those judging Judy.
He described the criticism surrounding her as rooted in hypocrisy and urged people to focus on their own lives.
According to him, “The Lord is saying let the woman be. A lot of hypocrisy is happening around us. Some of you have done worse and still expect not to be judged, but you’re quick to condemn her.”
He went on to say that God chooses who to bless and forgive, regardless of public opinion. The prophet also accused many of Judy’s critics of secretly destroying homes and having affairs, while publicly presenting themselves as morally upright.
“Stop talking about people’s marriages when you are scattering other people’s homes behind closed doors,” he said. “God said do not judge anyone.”
The message didn’t sit well with fans of May Edochie — Yul’s first wife — especially members of the loyal online group known as “May Nation.” Many flooded the comment section, accusing the prophet of bias and questioning the validity of his claims.
Some also criticised the focus of the prophecy, wondering why a message from God would centre on Judy Austin instead of addressing pressing global issues, including violence and injustice.
