The world of Nigeria Islamic music has been thrown into mourning over the death of popular Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso. The Ilorin-based cleric, Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh, announced her death in a post on Tuesday morning on his verified Facebook page.
The media aide to the Governor of Lagos State, Jubril Gawat, also took to X to announce the news with a Quranic verse as thus: “Indeed we belong to Allah and indeed to Him, we will return. Q 2 V 156.”
She was celebrated for her melodious voice and deep connection with the Muslim community through her Islamic songs. Details, as of this moment, have not been made public regarding her death
