Boluwatife Balogun: Champz Sets His Own Pace

Boluwatife Balogun, first son of global music star Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, made a power move into the music world with the release of his debut EP Champion’s Arrival on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Performing under the stage name Champz, Boluwatife announced his entry with vibrant visuals and a confident declaration: “11/11: The Champion has arrived. My debut EP Champion’s Arrival is OUT NOW on all platforms.”
Within days, the project gained impressive traction, earning streaming milestones and appearing on trending charts—an early indication that Champz may be gearing up for a promising career. What stands out most is his artistic direction. While he includes melodic elements in his music, the young star leans heavily toward rap, a genre choice that immediately stirred conversation, given Wizkid’s viral 2022 remark suggesting that “rap is dead.”
Fans reacted with mixed excitement and surprise. Some cheered Champz’s boldness, while others questioned Wizkid’s initial silence over the release, wondering whether his son’s preferred genre would spark further conversation. Yet in a recent street interview, the Grammy-winning artiste laid all doubts to rest. With a smile, he said, “Love the album, that’s my kid,” as he autographed merchandise—subtly signalling support for his son’s creative journey.

Isabelle Idibia, daughter of legendary singer Innocent Idibia and Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay, is steadily building a name in the film industry. Her acting debut came early—in 2018, at the age of nine—when she portrayed Maro in the Africa Magic family series Mr X Family Show, starring opposite Richard Mofe-Damijo.
Though she kept a relatively low profile on-screen in the years that followed, her mother revealed in September 2025 that Isabelle had landed an acting role in the United States. Sharing a proud behind-the-scenes photo, Annie wrote: “My sunshine!!! Filming. Girl has so much talent!! No jokes!!” The update reignited excitement among fans eager to see Isabelle evolve into an international screen presence.

Clinton Onyekwere, son of Nollywood veteran Anayo Onyekwere (widely known as Kanayo O. Kanayo), formally entered the movie industry in May 2024. The announcement came through his Instagram page, accompanied by a video shared by his father.
In the clip, Kanayo introduced Clinton as the newest member of his company, Simpliciter Associates Productions, where he will serve as assistant production manager and personal assistant. The video also captured Clinton already hard at work on set—an early demonstration of his willingness to learn the ropes of filmmaking from the ground up.
Kanayo emphasised professionalism during the introduction, urging his crew to treat his son like every other member of the team, without preferential treatment. With a degree in Information Communication Technology from Babcock University, Clinton brings both education and passion to his behind-the-scenes career.
Eyiyemi Afolayan: Continuing a Legendary Film Heritage
Eyiyemi Afolayan, daughter of renowned filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, represents yet another generation in a family deeply entrenched in the arts. Her breakthrough role as Princess Omowunmi in the film Aníkúlápó thrust her into mainstream recognition, a feat later solidified when she reprised her role in the Netflix series Aníkúlápó: Rise of the Spectre.

Her outstanding performance earned her a nomination for Best Young/Promising Actor at the 2023 Africa Movie Academy Awards. Despite being a Mass Communication student, Eyiyemi has gracefully balanced academics with acting, business ventures and creative projects—echoing her father’s multifaceted approach to the entertainment world.
Priscilla Ojo-Mkabala: A Return to Nollywood Roots
Priscilla Ojo-Mkabala, daughter of popular actress Iyabo Ojo, stepped into Nollywood at just three years old. Her breakout performance at age 11 in Toyin Abraham’s 2012 film Jejeloye opened the door to several notable roles, including Beyond Disability, Silence, Twisted Twins, Victims, Okrika, The In-Laws, and All of Us.
Though Priscilla briefly paused her acting career to build a family, her passion never waned. She completed a degree in Media and Theatre Arts at Babcock University in 2021 and made a remarkable return in 2023 with a lead role in Beyond Words, produced by her mother.
Together, these rising stars are redefining what it means to inherit fame. More than celebrity kids, they are creators, visionaries and emerging giants in their own right—shaping the future of Nollywood and Afrobeats as boldly as their parents shaped the past.
