Senegal defeated Qatar in their second group game in the 2022 world cup tournament, as they thrashed Qatar 3-1 on Friday.

They bounced back after a shameful 2-0 defeat to the Netherlands in their World Cup opener, it seemed the loss motivated them to do well.

Boulaye scored the first goal to put Senegal in the lead, in the 41st minute, and Famara Diedhiou quickly doubled the lead in the 48th minute.

Qatar tried their best to equalize when Ismail Mohamed gave a beautiful header, but unfortunately, it was saved by Cameroon goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.

Mohamed Mutari, however, gave Qatar hope as he registered their first goal in the 78th minute, this didn’t deter Senegal as Bamba Dieng tripled their lead in the 84th minute.
