Nasir El-Rufai, the Kaduna State Governor, had on Wednesday, February 1, criticized the timing of the naira redesign, while remarking the move makes sense, political or economic wise.
El-Rufai had stated this while featuring on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday morning.
But El-Rufai had exonerated President Buhari from the mess, and had instead, stated that the fault was from certain unnamed individuals who had exploited Buhari’s wish to establish a working Nigeria to frustrate his efforts.
The governor had then, gone on to explain that Buhari had during his first stint as the nation’s Head of State, redesigned the naira note without any incident. “They are hiding behind the President’s desire to do what he feels is right”. El-Rufai had said.
