In a recent video, Martin Otse aka VeryDarkMan, expressed dissatisfaction with the comments of Folashade Tinubu, the daughter of the president, Bola Tinubu, asking the citizens to be patient. Folashade had encouraged Nigerians to give her father three years and also discouraged them from joining the hunger protest that was to begin from August 1st to 10th.
VeryDarkMan criticised Folashade for downplaying the economic crisis that Nigerians are going through at the moment. He also noted that the first year of the administration has been characterised by economic challenges such as increase in the price of fuel saying that the action has made life harder for an average Nigerian.
The social media critic asked Folashade to relay the suffering of the people to him, stressing that the President must act on these concerns immediately. He mentioned the past, telling Folashade that Tinubu was against fuel price increase when Jonathan was the president of the country to mean protests are warranted today because of the current administration.
VeryDarkMan opposed any forms of violent actions during the protests but acknowledged the need to fight for economic justice. He encouraged Nigerians to demonstrate calmly and refrain from vandalism, citing high fuel costs and the absence of fuel stock as problems. His message was clear: the situation calls for the Tinubu administration to act fast to address these economic challenges affecting the Nigerian populace.
