2023 Elections: 2 politicians Tinubu could consider to be his running mate

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is one of the ruling party’s presidential candidates. He has been working tirelessly and effectively to secure the ruling party’s presidential election ticket for the upcoming presidential election.

Tinubu has not backed down since going to inform President Muhammadu Buhari of his ambitions to succeed him in 2023. He has been taking the necessary steps towards the party’s primary election. He has met with the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors on a number of occasions.

Tinubu has also been endorsed by the majority of senators elected on the All Progressives Congress platform (APC). Despite all of his efforts, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu still needs to choose a running mate for the upcoming presidential election.

The selection of a running partner will decide how strong the party’s presidential and vice presidential candidates are in order for them to be considered by the party’s leaders. Tinubu will have to travel to the north of the country to select his running mate. Tinubu is a southerner, and in order to maintain the ideal of fairness and equity, he cannot choose another southerner as his running partner. Tinubu, too, is a Muslim who has to find a Christian running mate.

Asiwaju’s first choice for a running mate from the northern part of the country is Boss Mustapha, the current Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Boss Mustapha has been involved in the incumbent administration’s actions and would assist Tinubu administratively. Boss is from Adamawa State, which is home to a leader who could oppose Tinubu on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform. Atiku Abubakar’s position in Adamawa State and the other northern states might be weakened by the use of Boss Mustapha. Voters will be given the choice of supporting Atiku Abubakar for president or Boss Mustapha for vice president. Boss Mustapha can be considered Tinubu’s running buddy.

Finally, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu may choose Mr. Yakubu Dogara, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, as his running partner.

Dogara had previously ruled the country in some capacity, and he must have learned a lot in the House of Representatives. Apart from that, Tinubu needs to whittle down the opposition party’s power in the north, and Yakubu Dogara could be an issue to consider. He is from Bauchi State and can do a lot to establish his party as the state’s leading party.
