Following a collision with a snow plow, US actor Jeremy Renner is out of surgery but is still in critical condition, according to his publicist.
In a statement to US media on Monday night, Samantha Mast revealed that Renner is currently in intensive care after suffering traumatic chest damage and orthopedic injuries.
After an accident occurred on Sunday as he was removing snow from outside his Nevada house, he was evacuated to the hospital.
Numerous people have died as a result of the snowstorms that have pounded the US.
The family expressed gratitude to the local fire and police departments and stated they were “very moved and grateful for the outpouring of love and support from his admirers.”
Before the disaster, Renner reportedly used his snow plow to clear a road in front of his Reno, Nevada home so his family could leave after a severe snowfall.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s office stated that the 51-year-old was the sole individual engaged in the event and that it was under investigation.
According to the US celebrity news website TMZ, Renner received assistance from nearby neighbors, one of whom was a doctor. In their statement, his family expressed gratitude to “the Carano and Murdock families.” Over the New Year weekend, a severe snowstorm slammed the US, killing at least 60 people in eight states.
Travel was severely hampered, and thousands of houses lost electricity.
Renner, a two-time Oscar nominee, is best known for playing Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Marvel film and television universe. He appeared in several Avengers movies and the spin-off Hawkeye television series.
For his performance in The Hurt Locker in 2008 and best supporting actor in The Town in 2010, he received Academy Award nominations.
He had earlier tweeted that “Lake Tahoe snowfall is no joke” and provided updates on the amount of snowfall in his region.
