It is important to note that not all persons donned in the Nigerian police regalia are policemen, some are impersonators using the police uniform to carry out their illicit acts.
According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson of Lagos State, A certain man named, Issa Majafara was nabbed by the Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday, at 6:30 pm around Iyana-Iba market road by the Surveillance Patrol team. He had the police uniform with him,
and when asked when some questions, he confessed that he was not a police officer, as he only picked up the uniform from. the dustbin and decided to wear it.
He further revealed that the suspect will be charged in court for Impersonation after their investigations have been completed.
During interrogation, the suspect claimed he picked the uniform from the dustbin. “The case is under investigation. The suspect will be arraigned in court soon for impersonation,” he said
