Remember it was alleged that The Duchess of Sussex sent private messages to an aide who had previously accused her of bullying and what not? Now these messages are all in the open and have thrown confusion into her PR operation. Not just that, everything is happening in the middle of Meghan’s lawsuit against the Daily Mail. A suit recently filed for the publishing of a private letter she sent to her father. In this letter it is alleged that the Duchess of Sussex begged her father to stop talking to the media.
She had already won the case in February without even as much as a trial in which she would have been expected to tender proof of evidence, but the newspaper appealed.
As it stands, a guy named Jason Knauf, who is Meghan’s communications secretary, took text messages she sent him to the Court of Appeal, where the newspaper filed to overturn her victory.
“Obviously everything i’ve drafted is with the understanding that it could be leaked so i have been meticulous in my word choice but please do let me know if anything stands out to you as a liability”, Meghan said.
She also added: “Honestly Jason, i feel fantastic, cathartic and real and honest and factual. “
If he leaks it then that’s on his conscience, but at least the world will know the truth, words i could never voice publicly.”
But the newspaper is now trying to argue that her right to privacy is washed with the fact that she made her statement intentionally, for the whole world to be privy to what was in the letter.
Meghan also said: “The rest is in the spirit of facts without seeming orchestrated, simply an appeal for peace and a reminder of what actually happened.”
