Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has granted pardon to 90 inmates across the Correctional Centres in Kano State, in celebration of the Holy Eid-el-Kabir celebration. Mr. Musbahu Lawal, the Kano Command of The Nigerian Correctional Service made this known on Saturday in a statement he issued.

The statement revealed that the inmates were pardoned and released based on their categories of offenses.

“About 77 inmates’ fines were settled and compensated for, while 10 Inmates on Death Row -IDR were additionally pardoned by the governor.”

Amongst the 10 inmates on death row, three were sentenced to life imprisonment, including a female prisoner, the statement read. The Correctional authority claimed the good behavior and dedication of the freed prisoners, towards their reformation programs and had displayed remorse for their crimes.
